Heidi Vinge works as an Associate Professor in Social Science at the Faculty of Education and Arts, Nord University. She teaches a variety of social science topics and supervises students at both bachelor and masters level.

Her specialities are digital citizenship, microsociological theory, qualitative research methods and academic writing. She is currently investigating new methods for teaching food and agriculture.


In her doctoral research in sociology from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (2020) she examined discourses in land use conflicts through the lens of farmland governance. She also has extensive experience in other domains of agri-food research, in addition to being a trained and experienced journalist.


She worked at the research institute Ruralis from 2011-2021.
