You have to pay the semester fee before you can register for the semester.
The semester fee is NOK 845.
Generate an invoice in StudentWeb. Remember to provide the right KID number. After 1 to 3 days you will be able to register for the semester through StudentWeb.
The fee has to be paid each semester. You can find the semester registration deadline in the Academic calendar.
The semester fee is a statuatory fee for students in Norway.
The money is paid to the student welfare organisation and is used to improve the welfare services for students.You will lose your right to study if you don't pay the fee and register for the semester by the deadline.
The semester fee is distributed as follows:
- NOK 650 to Studentinord.
- NOK 175 to KOPINOR. The fee covers costs for the use of copyright-protected material in teaching.
- 20 NOK to SAIH, the Norwegian Students and Academics International Assistance Fund. The latter is optional to pay. If you don't want to support SAIH, you may change the fee from 845,- to 825,-.
What the semester fee covers:
The fee contributes to cover the welfare services from Studentinord, such as:- Core services such as housing, canteens and counselling
- Refund of health expenses
- Courses in examination preparation, stress management, yoga lessons etc.
- Student organisations and activities
- Support for sports and cultural activities for students
If you have paid the fee at two Norwegian institutions in the same semester, or have terminated your studies at Nord University within the deadline, you may apply for a refund of the semester fee.

Student from other institutions:
If you have already paid semester fee in a different institution, follow these steps to be registered as a student for the semester at Nord University:
- Log in to StudentWeb and choose Nord University
- Create an invoice by clicking Menu - More - Payments - Create invoice
- Pay only for the Kopinor fee. You can pay the invoice using your bank account. Please note that you cannot pay directly in StudentWeb.
- Download the invoice in pdf.

Before you can register your study for each semester, Nord University has to receive the confirmation of paid semester fee and relevant documents.
With a justified leave of absence, you can choose whether to pay the semester fee, for example, during parental leave, compulsory military service, involvement in student political organizations, etc. No semester fee is required for an unjustified leave of absence.
PhD-candidates
PhD candidates are exempt from paying the semester fee, but if you have been admitted to another study programme in addition, the semester fee still has to be paid.
