Placement Abroad in Biology

BI226F
The course consists of a 15 week work placement in a relevant company or organization abroad.
Completion of the first two years of the bachelor's programme in Biology with satisfactory results, normally an average grade of C. Certain deadlines apply to work placements. See the placement handbook (Fronter) for more details.

On successful completion of the course:

Knowledge

The student should:

  • Know the work field, methods, and strategies employed by the host organization/company

Skills

The student should:

  • Be able to apply knowledge gained during the first two years of study to parts of the host organization/company¿s work area

General competence

The student should:

  • Through own activity gain experience from work operations relevant for his or her education
Costs: There may be costs related to transport and accommodation, depending on the location of the placement.
Elective: Bachelor in Biology and Bachelor in veterinary nursing
Work placement
The study programme is evaluated annually by students by way of course evaluation. These evaluations are included in the universitys quality assurance system.

Form of assessment:

  • 15 weeks of placemnet
  • Work requirement consisting of three reports.

Students deliver three reports electronically on Canvas during their placement abroad. Instead of submitting a second report, students can choose to write a blog posted at blogg.nord.no.

Overlap refers to a similarity between courses with the same content. Therefore, you will receive the following reduction in credits if you have taken the courses listed below:
