Upon completing the course, the student will have achieved the following learning outcomes:
Knowledge:
- Describe how climate affects vegetation at local and regional scales
- Explain how vegetation types such as forests, marshes and mountain vegetation are related to important ecological factors such as geology, soil, topography and hydrology
- Account for how internal and external geological processes have formed the earth’s landscapes
Skills:
- Identify some common types of vegetation in nature
- Explain the creation of landscape and topographic features, recognising various examples in the field
General competence:
- Use databases and literature to obtain relevant information about geology, climate and vegetation in Norway
