Individual Curriculum
The course provides the students with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in a scientific topic not covered by other available courses at FBA. The topic is chosen in agreement with a supervisor. The course normally includes independent literature search.
It is also possible to in-depth oneself in advanced analytical techniques, or learn about specific taxonomic groups, or other practical related topics on advanced level. A close dialogue with a supervisor to ensure a high scientific level and suitable litterature is demanded.

On successful completion of the course:
Knowledge
The student will:
•have advanced knowledge of theoretical and empirical aspects of a research topic at Master level within biosciences.
•be able to review the appropriate scientific literature and understand and synthesise the state of knowledge within the selected topic of biosciences.
•dependent of the course content, be able to use relevant selected methods for research
Skills
The student:
•will be able to explain important theoretical and empirical aspects of the selected scientific topic at Master level as described above.
•depending on the specialization, can apply advanced analytical or practical methods in the field.
•can extract new aspects from a bulk of reviewed literature and generate research ideas
General competence
The student will:
•be able to orally communicate important theoretical, and empirical aspects related to the selected research topic at Master level

Assessment task: Fill out and deliver form in Canvas. Approved/not approved
Oral exam, accounts for 100/100 of the grade, grading rule Letter grades A-F.
