Didactics - Social Science Studies

DID1004
Social science didactics are designed to help students develop competence in planning, implementing and critically assessing teaching and learning in respect of this subject area.
Social science didactics emphasises understanding of the relationship between the overall part of the curriculum and the curricula in social sciences and practice in facilitating in-depth learning and formation. Key to this are the uniqueness and relevance of the subjects in training with special emphasis on issues and challenges that are peculiar to the subjects and the subjects' contribution to interdisciplinary topics. This entails placing focus on planning for academic content, working methods and assessment work that promote the pupils' development of social science competence and citizenship, and which can be justified on the basis of pedagogical and didactic theory and reflections on practice experiences. Sami conditions, digital competence and critical thinking are key topics.
This course is reserved for students who have been admitted to Educational Theory and Practice for General Subjects with Social Sciences as its didactic discipline.
