Course content

The joint course description for pedagogy and didactics during the 3rd semester forms a coordinated transition between pedagogical and didactic courses from the first year of study and the final R&D assignment during the 4th semester. This means both specialisation in pedagogical and didactic courses from the 1st year of study, as well as an introduction to assignment-related methodology.

Course learning outcomes

Knowledge:

Candidates shall:

•possess in-depth knowledge about the scientific basis for the subject area, as well as the ability to analyse academic issues in schools on such a basis

•be able to find their way around academic literature, raise relevant issues, critically investigate and discuss these and develop their own academic practices

•possess in-depth knowledge about the development, motivation, learning and socialisation of children and young people, and about relationships between the individual, social, cultural and subject-specific factors involved in their work on adapted teaching/learning

Skills:

Candidates shall:

•be able to plan, implement and reflect on teaching based on research and experience-based knowledge - as well as analyse and discuss challenges in curricula and other management documents

•possess good skills in adapted training and be able to plan and carry out teaching on the basis of such

•be able to lead and motivate pupils in their academic work and create a secure and inclusive learning environment for all pupils

General competence:

Candidates shall:

•be able to work independently and with others in order to identify and solve challenges relating to pupils' learning and development

Course fees

Semester fees, course literature and travel and accommodation expenses for group meetings. It will also be necessary to have functional ICT equipment, including good quality headsets, so that students can participate in the online parts of the course.

Compulsory

Learning activities and teaching methods

Lectures and different learning activities on pedagogical and didactic subjects at seminars and online - with emphasis on learning and teaching challenges, adapted training, as well as the development of change and development competence.

Discussions, reflection and assignment work in the learning groups.

Course evaluation

Standard formulation: the course is evaluated annually by the students through course surveys. These evaluations are part of the University’s quality assurance system.

Description of the course examination

Composite assessment:

Compulsory participation (-/OD) - min. 80% attendance: one compulsory week on campus, groups, online meetings, etc.

Coursework requirements (-/AK) - All 3 written coursework requirements must be approved.

Assignment (OP/O) - Assignment assessed with a grade of A - F
