Business Economics and Competitiveness

ECO1010
The course initially provides an introduction to business economics based on basic business economics analysis where the company is put into a holistic perspective and the understanding is built up using cost and revenue analysis. Then there is a section on financial accounting where the student must understand the principles of financial accounting. The ability to carry out analyzes of companies' financial situation is taught by means of exercises. Then comes a thorough introduction to what has now become a more important part of the competition aspect; knowledge and competitiveness. Furthermore, a presentation of the public sector's 'business economics' is given via the topic of competitive bidding.
No costs except semester registration fee and course literature. It is required that students possess their own laptop.
Compulsory for students at the Bachelor Programme in Human Resource Management. Elective for other students.
The programme of study is evaluated annually by the students through course surveys (mid-term evaluation and final evaluation). The evaluations are part of the university's quality assurance system.
