Ecologic economy is a trans-disciplinary science that is continually developing. Based on a deeper understanding of the interaction between economy, nature and society, a foundation is laid for change towards sustainable societies characterized by a high quality of life in viable ecosystems. What changes are required to turn a negative development around will be discussed in light of various praxis areas. Based on knowledge of various methods for future research, students develop different future scenarios. The knowledge students acquire can be applied to developing creative, future-oriented solutions relevant to various industries and public sectors.

Must fulfill the requirements for admission to the two year Master of Science in Business program.
Upon successful completion of this course, the student:
Knowledge:
- Has knowledge of key terms, models and theories in ecological economy and methods in future research
- Has experience in working out suggestions as to how the tension between current issues and future solutions may be developed into concrete action plans
Skills:
- Can apply relevant theories in ecologic economy and methods for future research to professional development work in an independent manner
- Can analyse and critically relate to different theories and models and apply these to structure and formulate academic reasoning
General knowledge:
- Can conduct research and work out ethically informed proposed solutions for sustainable development of society
- Can communicate about academic issues, analyses and conclusions in the field with both professionals as well as general public debate
Can participate in public debate about how business and public management can contribute to change towards sustainable development

Elective
Varies between lectures, case tutoring and dialogue-based methods in which students actively participate in teaching
Evaluation using mid-term and final surveys. Students are also encouraged to participate in the central quality surveys
