Design for Film and TV

FTV1002
In this course, students can apply traditional art techniques and mix with live action footage in a digital medium. Students will learn the basics of a digital motion graphics workflow, and the course covers foundational training in different raster graphic, vector graphic and animation software, and the workflow used between them.

On successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

Skills:

  • Communicate a story idea through visual representation.
  • Create motion graphics based on concept and storyboards. 

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrate the key elements involved in a digital pipeline and workflow through practical production. 

General Competence:

  • Critically review work and reflect on own development. 
  • Apply traditional art techniques in a digital medium. 
  • Apply animation techniques, typography and effects to digital artwork. 
No costs except semester registration fee.
Mandatory
Didactic lectures, seminars, review sessions, independent and/or group practice-based professional learning.
