Multi-Camera Production

Multi-camera production introduces students to the principles and practices of multi-camera production in studio and live settings.
Multi-camera production prepares students to work in broadcast, live event coverage, and studio-based formats. Students will gain hands-on experience with camera coordination, live mixing, audio integration, streaming and production planning. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, technical precision, and creative direction in real-time environments, with a focus on professional workflows and industry standards.

After completing the course, the student must have obtained:

Skills:

  • can plan and execute a multi-camera production, including camera placement, shot lists, and live switching
  • can operate studio equipment and coordinate with crew members to achieve seamless live or recorded output
  • can troubleshoot common technical issues in a multi-camera setup and adapt to changing production conditions

Knowledge:

  • has broad knowledge of multi-camera production workflows, including studio and live event formats
  • understands the roles and responsibilities within a multi-camera crew, including director, vision mixer, camera operator, and floor manager
  • has insight into technical systems such as vision mixing, audio routing, tally systems, and intercom communication

General Competence:

  • can collaborate effectively in a high-pressure, team-based production environment
  • can reflect on the creative and communicative impact of live editing and camera choices
  • can apply knowledge and skills to new production contexts, demonstrating flexibility and professionalism.
In addition to the semester fee and curriculum literature, it is assumed that the student has a laptop computer at his/her disposal.
Elective
Theory-based lectures, practical exercises.
Evaluation using mid-term and final surveys. Students are also encouraged to participate in the central quality surveys.
