Geographical Theories and Terminology
GEO1122
The course gives an introduction to the history of geography as a discipline, main theories and key concepts.
Admission is based on Higher Education Entrance Qualification or prior learning and work experience in accordance with applicable regulations.
After completing the course, the student will have achieved the following learning outcomes:
Knowledge:
- have broad knowledge about the history of geography
- have knowledge about key theories and terminology
Skills:
- can apply the knowledge in academic and subject didactic contexts
General competence:
- has an understanding of the emphasis on geography in the interaction that takes place between humans, society and nature
No tuition fees. Semester fees and cost of course literature apply. Expenses for accomodation and food during the in-person immersions must be covered by the students.
Evaluation using mid-term and final surveys. Students are also encouraged to participate in the central quality surveys.
No prerequisite knowledge required apart from meeting admission requirements.
Overlap refers to a similarity between courses with the same content. Therefore, you will receive the following reduction in credits if you have taken the courses listed below:
