Master's Thesis, Senior Teacher Course

The course is concentrated entirely on writing the master thesis. Students choose themselves the theme for their thesis, but a connection with the research projects that are at the time being conducted at the department is encouraged and facilitated. It is a requirement that the thesis concerns a topic that is relevant to teaching at school-levels 8 - 13.

Students shall have chosen the theme for their thesis in the course of the autumn semester of their 5th. year. Students, who have signed a supervision contract, are granted until 13 hours of supervision for a Master thesis worth 50 ECTS. Supervision includes meetings with the supervisor and supervision via email and telephone. Some supervisory activities may be organized in groups. Students shall also participate in a thesis seminar together with the ordinary master candidates in history, in which they will present parts of their thesis for discussion.
