Agricultural Policy
HUS3301
This course shall provide a general understanding of the most important political topics for Norwegian agriculture politics:
- development trends in agriculture
- basic ideas
- agricultural- political goals and tools
- the agricultural agreement system
- agricultural co-ops
Students must meet current admission requirements for the associated study program.
Upon successful completion of the course, the Candidate:
Knowledge:
- has knowledge of the economic and political working conditions for agriculture
- has knowledge of the Norwegian agriculture- political regime
- has knowledge of relevant international trade deals
- can account for the extensive change processes in agriculture both nationally and internationally
Skills:
- can apply professional knowledge to formulate and analyse issues relevant to Norwegian agricultural politics
- can reflect critically upon agricultural political issues
General competence:
- can exchange agricultural political views with persons in the relevant academic community
No tuition fees. Semester fees and cost of course literature apply.
Compulsory
Lectures, class discussions, group assignments and student presentations in class.
Evaluated annually by students through course surveys. These evaluations are included in the university’s quality assurance system.

No prior knowledge is required beyond the admission requirement.
