Training Principles for Performance, Psychology

IDR1043
The course provides a thorough introduction to sports psychology theories that are relevant to performance development and learning motor skills. The course mainly focuses on performance development in sports, but the late development of society will also bring up the topic of sports and youth mental health.
The course mainly focuses on performance development in sports from a psychological point of view. Students gain a closer insight into how various psychological factors and perspectives affect mental health and performance. The course develops the student's overall understanding of the athlete's performance development.
The student must be admitted to the Skill and Performance Development program in sport. It is also possible to apply for single course.

  • Knows psychological perspectives and theories that can shed light on relevant practical issues in sport
  • Knows relevant theory on how training principles can be used for performance development within key psychological factors.

Organization of teaching:

The subject will consist of 80% digital lectures with assignments and 20% practice and testing linked to these.

There is an active discussion of the subject matter, and the student will be challenged to present current theory, work, and experiences from practice.

The students evaluate the study program annually through course evaluations and study program evaluations. These evaluations are included as part of the university's quality assurance system.

2 written work requirements. All work requirements are assessed as approved/not approved. All work requirements must be approved to be awarded an exam grade.

Compulsory participation in all teaching 80%: All compulsory participation is assessed as passed/failed and must be approved to be awarded an exam grade.

- 100% participation in practical activities and lab work.

Oral exam, up to 1 hour. Grade expressions: A-F. Counts 100/100 of the grade in the subject.
