Sports Specific Strength and Conditioning and Endurance Training
Knowledge:
Students will:
- have knowledge about methods for carrying out work requirement analyses in individual sports/activities
- have knowledge about the work requirements pertaining to different roles in sports/activities
- have knowledge about how to develop effective training programs for selected sports and activities
- learn how to develop effective training programmes for selected sports and activities
- understand ethical challenges involved in the subject’s research, dissemination and practice
Skills:
Students will:
- be able to analyse the work requirements of various sports and activities, and connect these to technical and tactical requirements.
- be able to compare these with the capacity of individual athletes, and prioritise what athletes should preferably prioritise in terms of training
- be able to analyse how far an athlete has come in terms of training development and compare this with work requirements
- actively participate in the design, implementation and documentation of training for athletes in various activities and sports
- be able to reflect on their own professional practice in relation to athletes at different stages of their development
- be able to master relevant tools, techniques and forms of expression so that he/she can communicate with athletes and other coaches in the same position
- assess ethical challenges in the field of practice and adjust their own practice in relation to this
- be able to practice the subject within its most important areas of application
- be able to document knowledge and work processes
General competence:
Students will:
- be able to compare what they have previously learned in the programme of study about the training process in order to create a comprehensive training programme
- be able to convey key subject matter such as theories, issues and training solutions in writing, orally and through other relevant forms of expression
- be able to exchange points of view and experiences at different academic levels with others who have a background in the subject area, and thereby contribute to the development of the subject area
- have knowledge about relevant innovation and innovative processes
Composite assessment:
- Portfolio - 4 pieces of written work to be answered in groups of up to two candidates. Guidance is given on the work. The candidate finally delivers an overall portifolio and is given an overall grade, represents 100/100 of the grade. Grading scale A-E, Best A, Fail F.
- Compulsory participation 80%, represents 0/100 of the grade, grading scale Approved/Not approved.
