Bachelor's Thesis

Students will carry out an independent scientific work under the supervision of professional staff. The students works in groups of 2 students. In special cases students may be allowed to work individually. The thesis should build on a hypothesis, which is approved by the assigned supervisor. The students should aim to assess and answer this hypothesis, either by use of a litterature study or by collecting data. The work will culminate in the submission of written work scale of about 30 pages, and must be in line with formal guidelines of Nord University.
Admission to the bachelor program in Strength and Conditioning, and passed all courses in year one.

Knowledge:

Students will:

- have extensive knowledge of the process of writing a bachelor thesis

- have necessery knowledge of relevant research methods

- have knowledge of theories and terms necessery for conducting scientific work

- be familiar with research- and development within the field of strength and conditioning

- have knowledge of the field of research, its tradition, and its social contribution

- understand ethical challenges in strength and conditioning research

Skills

students will:

- apply knowledge from scientific litterature to assess practical og theoretical hypotheses

- be able to acquire uptated knowledge

- be able to make well-reasoned desicions

- be able to find, assess and refer to relevant scientific litterature

- master relevant tools, techniques, and terms for writing a bachelor thesis

- be able to assess written scientific works

- be able to document working process and knowledge

General competence:

Students will:

- have insight in relevant research questions within the field of strength and conditioning

- be able to independently plan and conduct their bachelor work

- be able to perform their work in line with required ethical standards

- be able to convey relevant scientific works, both orally and in written form

- be able to discuss and exchange knowledge with others within the field of strength and conditioning

Semester fee and course literature.
Compulsory for students on the program Bachelor Strength & Conditioning.
Lectures and supervision
There will be an internal evaluation of the course near the end of term. Centrally administered course evaluations are an important part of the university's quality assurance system and students are strongly encouraged to take part.
Bachelor thesis. Grading scale A-E. A is best, fail F.
