The central focus in this course is basic competence in data management, academic writing, file management, effective use of literature and Health & Safety.
Upon successful completion of this course, the student:
Knowledge:
- Have knowledge of the central software contained within the Windows suite.
- Have knowledge of effective use of literature, source criticism, and reference management.
- Have knowledge of Health & Safety regulations both for field and laboratory work.
Skills:
- Can execute simple file management.
- Can use different types of data tools for simple presentations of collected data.
General competences:
- Can perform a literature search.
- Have insight into reference management in conjunction with academic writing.
- Can conduct simple file management tasks and have a competent ability to write academic papers.
No tuition fees. Semester fees and cost of course literature apply.

Lectures, computer lab-based lessons and chemistry laboratory sessions.
Evaluation using mid-term and final surveys. Students are also encouraged to participate in the central quality surveys.
