The Coach in Sport
IVB240-2
The content of the course will focus on developing own skills and knowledge as a trainer in selected sport. Students will acquire, through research-based knowledge, key knowledge in relation to the trainer role and skills development.
KNOWLEDGE
Candidate
- Has knowledge of key theories within social science subjects in selected sports.
- Can plan, implement, and evaluate high-level training in selected sports.
- Can evaluate the importance of different forms of feedback in the coach role.
- Can critically analyze the talent concept and talent selection.
SKILL
Candidate
- Can organize and evaluate training situations with a view to the participants' learning outcomes in a broad sense. Be able to convey crucial skills in selected sports.
- Can individualize learning and training situations based on the participants' level and background
- Are familiar with and be able to apply different types of guidance in their practice practice
- Have the ability to reflect on own values, sports values, and dilemmas in the coaching process
GENERAL COMPETENCE
Candidate
- Has the ability to analyze the trainer's role in selected sports from the theoretical perspective in social science subjects in sports

Evaluation using mid-term and final surveys. Students are also encouraged to participate in the central quality surveys.
