MAF5005
This course provides advanced knowledge about trends and transformations in a globalized world that are relevant to industries and sectors, private and public enterprises, as well as to leaders and employees.
The purpose of the course is to review global trends and transformations in culture, business, and technology. This constitutes the working conditions and opportunities that public and private organizations face in a globalized economy. The course includes topics such as globalization, culture, climate and sustainability, technological development, international enterprises, the sharing economy and gig economy, globalized trade and brands, as well as consumer society.

It is possible to apply for admission to the course as a single course. There are reservations about the available capacity on the course. The applicant must meet the current admission requirements for the Master of Science in Business or Master of Accounting and Auditing.

Knowledge: Upon completing the course,

  • the candidate possesses advanced knowledge of working conditions in today's globalized world,
  • the candidate can apply knowledge of global perspectives within the field of business economics,
  • the candidate can apply knowledge to professional issues based on global opportunities and challenges in companies, organizations, and society.

Skills: Upon completing the course,

  • the candidate can analyze and interpret globally oriented working conditions and work independently on practical problem-solving at the company/organization level, industry level, and societal level,
  • the candidate can critically engage with challenges posed by a globalized economy,
  • the candidate can apply critical perspectives as a basis for issues and professional reasoning.

General Competence: Upon completing the course,

  • the candidate can apply their advanced knowledge and skills to new industries, markets, and societies in businesses, public administration, and organizations,
  • the candidate can communicate comprehensive independent analyses of global perspectives and associated professional concepts and expressions,
  • the candidate can contribute to innovative thinking in the wake of analyses related to global themes and issues in business economics.
Paid semester fee and syllabus literature. It is also required that students have a laptop at their disposal.

Lectures

The study programme is evaluated annually by students by way of course evaluation studies. These evaluations are included in the universitys quality assurance system.

Composite Assessment, Letter Grades

  • Oral Exam, accounts for 60/100 of the grade, letter grade.
  • Portfolio, accounts for 40/100 of the grade, letter grade.

Changes in the assessment method are possible. The correct assessment method is displayed in StudentWeb when registering for the relevant course.
