Explore storytelling in the intersection of film, animation, and interactive media in this hands-on course focused on interdisciplinary creative production. Working in teams, students develop media projects in response to client briefs or thematic challenges, navigating the full production pipeline—from concept and planning to execution and delivery.

The course emphasizes creative problem-solving, critical reflection, and iterative development in a dynamic, team-based environment.

This course provides students with hands-on experience in interdisciplinary creative production, combining elements from film, animation, and interactive media. Through collaborative projects, students will explore how storytelling can be adapted across different formats and platforms, with a particular focus on historical and cultural contexts.

Students will work in teams to develop and deliver a media product based on a client brief or thematic challenge. Emphasis is placed on the full production pipeline—from concept development and planning to execution and delivery—while fostering professional communication, creative problem-solving, and critical reflection.

The course encourages students to integrate technical skills with artistic vision, and to navigate the dynamics of teamwork, feedback, and iterative development in a professional setting.

Restricted to students at the Bachelor studies in Games and Entertainment Technology, CG art and Animation, Film and TV production and connected study programs at our international partner institutions.

After completing the course, the student:

  • has knowledge of planning tools and production pipelines in creative industries
  • has understanding of storytelling techniques in film, animation, video games or interactive media

  • can collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams, contributing in either artistic or technical aspects
  • can plan, execute, and evaluate projects based on user needs
  • can use relevant tools and software for animation, video production, or game prototyping

In addition to the semester fee and curriculum literature, it is assumed that the student has a laptop computer at his/her disposal.
Mandatory

Project-based learning: The course is centered around a practical project that integrates theory and practice.

Reflective Journaling: Students maintain a journal or logbook documenting their creative process, challenges, and learning moments.

The study program is evaluated annually by the students through course evaluations and study program evaluation. These evaluations are included as part of the university's quality assurance system
