- Can apply knowledge about different quantitative designs and methods within health sciences in an independent manner
- Can formulate research issues related to health and participation within the field of quantitative research.
- Can analyse and account for different statistical measurements
- Can relate critically to and carry out certain basic statistical tests, as well as formulate academic reasoning/conclusions based on statistical findings.
General competence:
- Can relate critically to and account for the strengths and weaknesses of various quantitative research designs
- Can critically analyse scientific articles/publications that apply quantitative designs and methods
- Can, with the help of quantitative research, contribute to innovative thinking and innovation processes within one’s own subject area, according to UN's Sustainability goal to ensure healty lives and promote well-being for all.
- Can use subject area terminology and software for statistical analyses
Session-based. The sessions are conducted as lectures, presentations and practical exercises with feedback from fellow students and teachers. Teaching methods used: Lectures, seminars, group work and practical skills training.
Self-study and coursework are expected both before and after the sessions.
The course includes two pieces of coursework. Coursework must be approved before the final course grade can be given. Grading: approved/ not approved.
Final exam is 2 weeks of sit-home-exam. Grading: A-F.
The exam answer must always be made by the candidate personally.
