Introduction to Knowledge, Organization and Leadership

MKL110
The course provides students with a basic understanding of knowledge management including the management of knowledge-related work and knowledge processes. The course provides an introduction to different perspectives on knowledge, organisation and management concerning the history of ideas. This means focusing on how different approaches to knowledge affect the understanding of organisation and management. Emphasis is placed on developing students’ ability to see the relationships between organisation and knowledge society, and the importance this has regarding the manager’s role. Students are trained to apply different theoretical perspectives to practical and experience-based issues, both from their own and others’ managerial practice. Great emphasis is placed on the development of a learning community, where the sharing of knowledge between students through various forms of cooperation will be key. Students will be trained in critical reflection through discussion and academic writing, with the goal of achieving a reflected relationship with their own managerial practice.

Compulsory theoretical course.
Lectures, case studies, academic and collective supervision, various forms of group work; discussions, practical exercises, reflective teams and response groups.

Compulsory attendance on the first day of the first session - must be approved in order to sit the exam

Compulsory coursework requirements - all coursework must be approved in order to take the examination

  • 2 compulsory papers.

Final assessment:

  • Home examination, group, 5 days, grading scale A-F, counts for 100%

Group 2-3 students. Examination in May. Two examiners, of which at least one is an external examiner.

Generating an answer using ChatGPT or similar artificial intelligence and submitting it wholly or partially as one's own answer is considered cheating
