Important Processes of Knowledge Management
In accordance with the regulations of 2005 concerning the requirements for a master's degree from section 5 of the Ministry of Education and Research: The admission requirements for experience-based master's degrees of 90 or 120 credits are the following:
- bachelor's degree
- cand.mag.
- other degree or vocational training of a minimum 3 years in scope
- education which has been approved as being equivalent to the above mentioned degrees or educational programmes, pursuant to Section 3-5 of the Norwegian Act relating to Universities and University Colleges
Because this is an experience-based master's degree, in addition to requirements for education, at least two years of relevant vocational experience is also required. The institution stipulates what is relevant vocational experience. In this context, relevant practice is documented competence within the field of management and organisation.
Passed MKL110 and MKL120 (including approved coursework requirements).
After completing the course, candidates will have attained the following learning outcomes defined in knowledge, skills and general competence
Candidate knowledge:
- has advanced knowledge of the key processes in the management of knowledge, such as strategy, creativity, innovation, materiality, technology and communication
- has in-depth knowledge of the course’s various scientific theories and methodologies
- can analyse academic issues of key processes in the management of knowledge by using theories concerning strategy, creativity, innovation, materiality, technology and communication
- can apply knowledge of key processes in knowledge management, such as strategy, creativity, innovation, materiality, technology and communication
Candidate skills:
- can analyse and relate critically to the various theories and perspectives of key processes in the management of knowledge
- can analyse different theories, methodologies and interpretations, and work independently in order to solve practical problems
- can independently use relevant research methodologies and academic development work in areas such as strategy, creativity, innovation, materiality, technology, and communication
- can carry out an independent, defined research or development project (project task) in accordance with applicable ethical research norms while under supervision
Candidate general competence:
- can analyse relevant academic and practical issues associated with key processes in the management of knowledge
- can apply their knowledge and skills in strategy, creativity, innovation, materiality, technology and communication in order to carry out advanced tasks and projects (including the project task)
- can convey extensive independent work and master terminology used on the course
- can communicate about key processes in the management of knowledge with both specialists and the general public
Final assessment:
- Assignment, group, grading scale A-F, counts for 0%
Written group assignment. Two examiners, of which at least one is an external examiner.
An oral hearing will be held following the submission of the assignment. A grade is given to the task, which may be adjusted on the basis of the oral hearing. The thesis must be assessed to be passed before an oral hearing is held.
- Oral examination, individual, grading scale A-F, counts for 100%
