The course focus on different methods used in registration, mapping and monitoring of chosen species and landscapes. Theoretical and practical training are used so that students are able to solve assignments based on analyzed data
The subject is reserved for outgoing students at Bachelor of Nature Management.
Students must meet current admission requirements for the associated study program.
Upon completion of the course, the student is expected to:
Knowledge:
- is based course NAF2001 but increases knowledge about methodical issues and understanding which methods should be used and why
Skills:
- is based on course NAF2001 but goes further by being able to point out pros and cons in the data material
General competence:
- in how field data can be used to understand ecological prosseses in order to make nature management efforts
Paid semester fee and syllabus literature. It is also required that students have a laptop at their disposal.
Elective for outgoing students.
The course consists of lectures, fieldwork and assignments followed by oral presentations. In some cases, working hours in the field can exceed those of a normal day at campus.
Evaluated annually by students through course surveys. These evaluations are included in the university’s quality assurance system.
Norway's laws and other collections of laws that only contain legal texts and regulations. Special edition of laws and regulations and pen, ruler and up to 2 bilingual dictionaries.
Generating an answer using ChatGPT or similar artificial intelligence and submitting it wholly or partially as one's own answer is considered cheating.
