Nature Guiding and Facilitation
Content:
- nature guiding, facilitation and management as academic field and profession
- the history of nature guiding and the current organization of nature guiding work in Norway
- guiding, communication, information, facilitation and management about awareness work towards various target groups
- group processes, communication and interaction in connection with various activities in nature
- planning and carrying out management and facilitation measures with different purpose and adaptations to different user groups
Upon successful completion of this course, the student:
Knowledge:
- has knowledge of basic pedagogy and methodology required for operating as nature guide
- has basic knowledge of different types of management and facilitation measures, as wall as use of different types of equipment and choice of materials
Skills:
- has increased his or her skills for working with various nature-based guiding tasks and activities
- is able to work with various practical management and facilitation measures related to different purpose
General competence:
- can work with nature guiding related to various themes and target groups
- can work with management and facilitation in various natural and cultural heritage areas
Lectures, field-based teaching as well as practical-methodological assignments.
There is a requirement for at least 80% attendance at the lectures.
Compound assessment, grading scale A-F.
- Compulsory participation - (80%). Approved/ Not approved. Must be passed prior to submission of the written assignment - individual semester assignment 2 (natural guidance).
- Written assignment - individual semester assignment 1 (preparation and maintenance), comprises 40% of the grade.
- Written assignment - individual semester assignment 2 (natural guidance), comprises 60% of the grade.
All aids permitted.

Overlap refers to a similarity between courses with the same content. Therefore, you will receive the following reduction in credits if you have taken the courses listed below:
