Extramural Practice I
PRA1039
One week practical training.
Completion of 40 hours under supervision of private professionals, working in the animal farming or animal health/veterinary sector. The practical activity must take place after the 1st year and has to be completed by the end of the 3rd semester.
The establishment must be approved by the faculty in advance, before the student begins the practice.
The students must contact and find suitable establishments themselves.
The course is only available for students in the Joint Bachelor Degree in Animal Science.
Upon completion of the course, the student:
Knowledge
- Has an overview of the tasks and responsibilities related to the chosen professional field.
Skills
- Can perform under supervision, simple tasks related to the chosen professional field.
General competence
- Can communicate and collaborate with other professionals in a specific field of animal science.
No tuition fees. Semester fees and cost of course literature apply.
Practice
Compulsory
The students choose a practice place themselves. During the period of practice and under supervision of a designated person, they participate and assist in various tasks related to the husbandry and health management of any species of domestic animals
Evaluation using mid-term and final surveys. Students are also encouraged to participate in the national quality surveys.
Compound assessment
Practice (PR): Pass/fail
Written assignment (OP): Submission of a report of the activities performed during the practice period. The report needs to be passed for the completion of the course. Pass/fail.
Simple calculator and bilingual dictionaries.Generating answers using ChatGPT or similar artificial intelligence and submitting them wholly or partially as one’s own response is considered cheating.
