Clinical Practice - Basic Nursing, Municipal Health Care Services

The course concerns the practicing of nursing mainly with regard to elderly patients for the purpose of developing knowledge-based skills.
The practice of clinical nursing through supervised professional training in the municipal health service, mainly with regard to elderly patients who require nursing and care. Knowledge from the theory courses that will be applied when dealing with patients for the practice of basic nursing with a person-centred focus.
The course SYK1012 Practical nursing skills, Part 1 must be passed before starting the course. The course must be passed before week 45 in the third semester.
In addition to semester fees and literature on the reading list, costs must be expected regarding additional housing, travel expenses etc. in relation to supervised professional training studies cf. Nord University’s guidelines.
Compulsory. Supervised professional training study

The practice of clinical nursing during supervised professional training under the supervision of nurses who are familiar with the learning outcomes of the course, as well simulation.

The student will submit the following written assignments:

1 reflection notes, 400 words (+/- 10%).

1 written placement assignment of 2,000 words (+/- 10%).

Two self-assessments relating to achievement of learning outcomes.

The students have 2 meetings, one of which is a reflection meeting and one hour of guidance on a written assignment.

Ten weeks of supervised professional training studies in the municipal health service

SPT - Examination: The student will practice the profession of nursing and their achievement of the learning outcomes will be assessed throughout the process. In the event that there is a risk that the student will not pass, the student must be notified in writing at the time of the interim assessment or at least three weeks before the final assessment is due to take place, any shortcomings must be specified and documented and the student must be given the opportunity to work on these up until the final assessment.

The correct assessment can be ensured through collaboration between the placement supervisor and the lecturer based on clear learning outcomes for which the student will also have the opportunity to assess themselves.

The following requirements must be met in order to pass the period of supervised professional training: 90% attendance during the supervised professional training

Approved written and/or oral assignments submitted

Grading scale: Pass/fail

Overlap refers to a similarity between courses with the same content. Therefore, you will receive the following reduction in credits if you have taken the courses listed below:
