Interdisciplinary cooperative learning

The course addresses professional, interdisciplinary and ethical questions the social worker can expect to meet in the exercise of the profession. Through the course, the students will increase their competence to act responsibly in relation to people in vulnerable life situations and to develop their ability to identify and reflect over various dilemmas they will meet in practice. In assisting people, there will often be a need for interdisciplinary cooperation.  The challenges and possibilities of such cooperation are the themes of the course. The course will include practical exercises in addition to lectures and  group work.  
Students must have passed all exams in the first year if study and have completed the period of practice

  • Of and insight into ethical questions experienced in professional social work
  • Of preventative social work and project work
  • Of the possibilities and challenges involved in interdisciplinary cooperation
  • Of organisations¿ cultures and structures

 

Skills

  • To develop ability to reflect over personal expression in cooperation with clients and other professionals
  • To initiate measures that prevent social problems
  • To have insight into the barriers and possibilities inherent in interdisciplinary cooperation
  • To undertake systematic reflection in situations of dilemma
  • To have insight into personal values and how these can influence professional choices

 

General competence

  • Insight into relevant interdisciplinary and ethical questions pertaining to the profession
  • A developed ability to communicate and cooperate with clients and other professionals
  • A developed ability to reflect over personal values and attitudes in the exercise of professional work
No costs except semester registration fee and course literature.

Lectures, reflection, group work and assignments. Reflection will take place in groups under supervision of a teacher.
