KNOWLEDGE
The student will

- have broad knowledge of a language or literary topic that they have chosen themselves

The student will
- be able to analyze relevant academic literature and draw their own conclusions
- be able to communicate relevant information, theories, ideas, questions and solutions about a given topic
GENERAL COMPETENCE
The student will
- be able to work independently toward producing a completed academic text
- be able to evaluate an academic topic with an independent and critical eye
- be able to use Lule Saami successfully and with confidence in an academic context

Students should expect costs to incur in relation to sessions at Drag or elsewhere.
The course will to a large extent consist of independent work on the paper in addition to some joint lectures, group work and meetings between the student and the supervisor(s).
The student will, in consultation with the supervisor(s), set a timetable for the work. Deadlines will be set for a preliminary outline, for preparation of the reading list, for completing various parts of the paper and for the completion of the paper.
This course has a composite assessment (SV) that consists of:
- Work Requirements (AK) - up to 3 requirements, written/oral. They are considered either approved/passed or not approved/failed, and they count as 0/100 of the course grade.
- Specialization assignment (OP) - is assessed on the basis of letter grades A-F. A is the best grade and F is a failing grade. It counts as 100/100 of the course grade.
- SV - both AK og OP must receive a passing grade in order for the course as a whole to receive a passing grade.
Overlap refers to a similarity between courses with the same content. Therefore, you will receive the following reduction in credits if you have taken the courses listed below:
