Business English
SP203L
The course develops skills in cross-cultural communication using English in a business environment.
Higher Education Entrance Qualification and English language proficiency
Through the course, students acquire:
Knowledge of
- Current events, concepts, themes and structures within international business life
- English language norms in different cultural and social contexts
Skills
- Use of correct and relevant vocabulary and terminology
- Ability to function effectively within an international environment
- Ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical contexts
General competence
- Good practical language, both written and oral
- Good intercultural understanding
Paid semester fee and syllabus literature. It is also required that students have a laptop at their disposal.
Compulsory course for 1st year students - bachelor international marketing
Elective course for other students at Nord University
Weekly classes on speaking, listening, writing, and reading comprehension. The textbook is required for weekly assignments and additional course materials will be made available on Canvas. Participation is not compulsory, although students must deliver weekly assignments and one in-class presentation to a passing standard in order to be eligible for the examination.
The study programme is evaluated annually by students by way of course evaluation studies. These evaluations are included in the universitys quality assurance system.
