Artistic Production 3

TEA2017

Artistic Production 3 strengthens students’ independence and artistic vision. It is the main subject of the third year and consists of free-standing projects, each with a specific artistic direction and different artistic viewpoints and creative methods.

In addition, the students acquire the survival toolkit to work as a freelance worker, independent producer, and learn about production processes, funding, and organizational work.

Artistic Production 3 gives students further insight into artistic directions, forms, and ways of working. The aim is to strengthen the student’s artistic competence and ability to work pertinently on diverse artistic projects.

During the year, students work on a series of projects that range in duration from short (1 to 3 weeks) medium (4 to 5 weeks) and long (6 to 12 weeks). Each project offers a new challenge to work on a different artistic direction, with a different creative process, and employing a different work structure.

The diversity of the artistic projects allows the students to explore how they want to work, discover where their strengths lie, and find out what direction they would like to take in the professional field.

Through the projects, the students explore the following: the roles of artistic leader, director, devising ensemble member, interpretive actor, creative actor, movement director, dramaturg, composer, and writer; creative processes and ways of creating artistic material (for example, from movement, immersive research, artistic and documentary sources); artistic directions and intentions.

The practical work is accompanied by reflection and critical thinking, and the knowledge of production skills, how to work as an independent actor, how to promote oneself, and create networks in the professional field.
