The course will provide knowledge about and develop the ability to discuss theory and recent research related to relevant topics within educational, special educational and didactic subject areas, especially relevant to their own master’s thesis.

Requires admission to the Master in Adapted Education programme of study, and VIT5021 Philosophy of Science and Research Methodology - introduction.

Knowledge - The candidate has:

  • In-depth knowledge about recent research, theories and relevant debate related to adapted education and their own master’s thesis.
  • Advanced insight into local, regional, national and international education policy guidelines that arerelevant to their own master’s thesis.

Skills - The candidate can:

  • Find relevant literature through searches for printed texts, in digital databases, relevant social media, nationally and internationally.
  • Select theory, research and debate relevant to their own master’s thesis.

General competence - The candidate can:

  • Critically assess theory, research and debate relevant to their own master’s thesis.
No fees other than semester fees and course literature.
Compulsory
Some lectures and practical introduction to literature searches, but mainly self-study under the guidance of the assigned supervisor.
The course is evaluated annually by the students in course surveys. These evaluations are part of the University’s quality assurance system.

Oral examination (MU/), individual, duration 25 minutes, grading scale pass/fail, represents 100/100

Students may bring brief notes to the oral examination summarising the literature they have used.
