This course offers the students with practical experience through traineeship at partner companies to the Business School. The traineeship project in the 3rd semester is an integrated part of the M.Sc programme. The purpose is to provide the students with an opportunity to apply the theoretical insight and the methodological knowledge obtained during the 1st and 2nd semesters in a real-life situation in a Norwegian or in a non-Norwegian setting. The student will study an organizational problem or issue in cooperation with the company, that is related to the major the student is enrolled at. 

The projects should take theoretical insights and methodological knowledge obtained during the 1st and 2nd semester as a point of departure, and these should be applied to a real life situation. The students must thus investigate a selected problem area by defining a research question, collecting the appropriate data and analyze it. Preferably in close connection with the tasks as trainee.

Emnet er kun åpent for studenter på MSc in Business eller MSc i global ledelse. Praktikantmulighetene kunngjøres av Handelshøgskolen, og studentene må søke om å bli tatt opp på emnet. Det er spesifikke retningslinjer for praksisperioden som studenten må signere. Studenten vil få en veileder ved vertsselskapet og en akademisk veileder for å gjennomføre forskningen.
Fyller gjeldende opptakskrav til det toårige studiet Siviløkonom/Master of Science in Business.

  • Have advanced insight about the state of the art on international research in regard to the problem statement investigated.

  • Can assess and apply relevant scientific methods and tools for studying the phenomenon as well as master general skills linked to solving practical problems and issues.

  • Can conduct an independent research project in cooperation with a real case company, by meeting ethical norms.

  • Can discuss professional and scientific issues with peers as well as non-specialists.
  • Is able to handle practical situations that are complex, unpredictable and require new methods of solving.
  • Is able to independently start  and carry out professional and interdisciplinary cooperation and assume professional responsibility.

The trainee opportunities is announced by the Business School, and students must apply to be accepted at this course. There are specific guidelines for the trainee period that the student will need to sign. The student will get a supervisor at the host company and an academic supervisors for conducting the research.  
Studieprogrammet evalueres årlig av studentene gjennom emneundersøkelser. Evalueringene inngår som en del av universitetets kvalitetssikringssystem.
Emnet består i hovedsak av praksis opphold, ca 8 uker.

Mappe, karakterskala A-F. Mappen skal inneholde en praksisavtale, midtveisrapport og en sluttrapport.
