Amsale K. Temesgen is an Associate professor of Ecological Economics and Management. Her research focuses on the intersection between wellbeing and sustainability. She has published internationally on topics such as circular economy, local sustainability initiatives, and needs-based theories. She has over ten years of research experience in international development, studying living conditions of populations in fragile states and in poor and middle-income countries. She has previously contributed to international reports including the State of the World’s Cities Report of UN-Habitat and the World Development Report of the World Bank.

Temesgen is acting coordinator of the Master program in Business, and teaches and supervises students at Bachelor, Master and PhD levels. She teaches in the following courses:

Temesgen is Task leader in the European University Alliance, SEA-EU. SEA-EU - the European Universities of the Sea, is an alliance of 9 coastal European universities; Cadiz, Western Brittany, Kiel, Gdansk, Split, Malta, Algarve, Naples and NORD, and focuses on developing European Higher Education. Temesgen leads Task 2.2 - "Fostering inclusive, digital and green interdisciplinary and innovative training pathways".

Amsale K.
