Emelie Johanne Johansen Wold
Emelie Johanne Johansen Wold is an Assistant Professor in social analysis and emergency preparedness at the Center for Crisis Management and Collaboration – Nordlab. She is a social scientist and analyst with an academic background that includes a Master’s degree in Social Analysis, a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, and Circumpolar Studies. Emelie is also a research intern at the Arctic Institute.
Emelie has developed and taught lifelong learning courses at the Center for Crisis Management and Collaboration – Nordlab, and is course coordinator for Municipal Emergency Preparedness Collaboration and Wildland fires in the Arctic. She also supervises master’s students.
Her research focuses on emergency preparedness and crisis management, with an emphasis on how education, technology, and interagency collaboration can strengthen society’s ability to address both acute crises and structural challenges. She is particularly interested in how joint exercises can enhance actors’ collaborative competence, thereby contributing to robust emergency preparedness both during and between crises.
