Hanne Elise Austerheim
Hanne Elise Austerheim is a university lecturer in emergency preparedness and societal safety at the Center for Crisis Management and collaborartion – Nordlab in Bodø. She has expertise in health preparedness, crisis management, and exercise planning, with a strong focus on continuing education, course development, research, and the implementation and evaluation of interdisciplinary exercises. Hanne holds a master’s degree in clinical nursing, with a thesis on the facilitator role in simulation-based learning. In addition, she has educational background in municipal emergency preparedness, university pedagogy, clinical nursing, and palliative care.
Hanne has extensive experience in teaching and supervision at both bachelor's and master's level. She has been teaching since 2016 and has contributed to the development of lifelong learning programs and individual courses. Hanne possesses strong pedagogical competence in university-level teaching, with particular emphasis on student-active learning methods and digital education. She is a certified instructor in the use of Nødnett.
Her research focuses on health preparedness and emergency response in the Arctic, where climatic and geographic conditions demand tailored coordination and resilience strategies. She explores how education, technology, and joint exercises can enhance the capacity to manage both acute and prolonged crises, while also contributing to the development of overall societal resilience.
