- Philosophiae doctor in Pharmacy (Ph.D.), Faculty of Medicine, UiT, The Artic University of Norway. 2004-2008. Thesis: VanA type glycopeptide resistance plasmids in Enterococcus faecium; Genetic components and mechanisms of persistence.
- Candidatus pharmaciae (Master of Pharmacy), Faculty of Medicine, UiT, the Artic University of Norway. 1998-2003. Thesis: Comparative sequence analysis of R-plasmids harboured by vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium isolates from food animals and farmers in Norway
I teach pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, social pharmacy, and research methods at the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences.
I supervise candidates on PhD, Master, and Bachelor levels at Nord and NTNU.
I coordinate the pharmacy placement for pharmacy students at Nord.

Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Pharmacy, PRA2051, 30 ECT.
My pharmacy research focuses on the use of medicines, in a broad sense, involving three specific topics:
1) Medical microbiology and antimicrobial resistance,
2) Social pharmacy and pharmacy practice,
3) Medication safety and rational use of medicines.
Ongoing projects:
- Patient centered consultations in pharmacies to support safe use of medications.
- MedSafe-Old: Ensuring medication safety for older recipients of municipal home care services
- The pharmacy as a healthcare service - best practice for "over the counter" (OTC) counselling
- Depression and anxiety in cardiovascular diseases and diabetes: Prevalence trends and drug treatments 1995-2019. A linkage between the Trøndelag Health Study (HUNT) and the Norwegian Prescription Database (NorPD).
- Peer learning and peer assessment in pharmacy eduction. (Henge Sammen: Å få det til å henge sammen – ved å henge sammen. Samlæring og hverandre-vurdering i farmasiutdanningen)
- Quality and Relevance in Practice: a pilot project for interprofessional education in health professions education programmes (Kvalitet og Relevans i Praksis [KoRiP])
