Thomas Andre Lauvås
Thomas Lauvås is an Associate Professor in innovation and entrepreneurship.
Lauvås holds a bachelor's degree in business administration (2011) from Nord Business School and a Master of Science in Business Administration from NTNU (2013), with a focus on strategy, organization, and leadership. In his PhD thesis from Nord University Business School (2017), Lauvås studied the collaboration process between firms and universities in research centers.
As an Associate Professor, Thomas has researched sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurship, often within the process industry and aquaculture sectors. He has published several articles and has been the editor of a handbook on innovation for a circular economy and the use of case studies in entrepreneurship education. Lauvås was awarded the status of excellent teaching practitioner at Nord University in 2023.
Lauvås is part of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship division and the Center for Industrial Business Development at Campus Helgeland, Mo i Rana, and works part-time as a knowledge broker for industry and aquaculture.
Thomas teaches and supervises at the bachelor's, master's, and PhD levels. He emphasizes connecting theory and practice, often by having students solve real-world problems for local businesses. Thomas is involved in a variety of courses, but particularly in:

Lauvås has contributed to several research projects within innovation and entrepreneurship, including areas such as open innovation and collaboration in research centers and innovation projects, often in peripheral regions. Lauvås has also studied innovation during the COVID-19 pandemic on behalf of Innovation Norway.
Thomas is currently involved in the following research projects:
INDIGO – Strengthening the regional industrial innovation system for green transition. The purpose is to provide businesses with greater access to relevant knowledge and research that enhances green innovation and transition.
