Erasmus+

• As Erasmus+ student you do not pay tuition fee when traveling to another Erasmus+ institution
• You can exchange more than once – both on bachelor and master level
• You receive an Erasmus Grant

As a Nord University student you do not need to apply for a Erasmus+ grant. Students who have had an approved application for an exchange to an Erasmus+ partner university or an application for practice in Europe will automatically have their application for a scholarship processed.

When you travel as an Erasmus+ student, there are some documents that must be completed before your stay and after returning home:

Before:

In addition, Erasmus+ students can take a language course and an online language test (Online Language Support) free of charge. This may be used to meet language requirements at certain partner universities.

Requirements for scholarship:

• The studies or internship abroad must be approved as part of the degree at Nord University.
• It is only possible to study at an institution that has an Erasmus+ cooperation agreement with Nord University
• The stay must last a minimum of 2 months and a maximum of 12 months. Shorter stays may be possible through blended mobility.

• For studies: EUR 470-530 per month
• For placements: EUR 620-680 per month
• Students with fewer opportunities: additional grant for EUR 250 per month
• The travel grant depends on the distance between the home and host institution, as well as whether the journey qualifies as a green travel. The amount ranges from EUR 28 to EUR 785.

The grant amount will vary depending on the length of stay, host country and living situation.

Payment of scholarship:

The scholarship is paid in two or three installments depending on the length of the stay abroad. At the start of the stay, 80 % of the scholarship amount is paid for the entire stay. The rest is recalculated after providing documentation that confirms the length of stay and is paid approx. 1 month after the end of your stay abroad.

Students who withdraw before spending two months abroad must repay the full amount of the scholarship they received, unless the withdrawal is due to a force majeure situation—in which case they must contact the International Office immediately.

The Erasmus+ programme promotes equal access and equal opportunities for participation for all students regardless of background and social and health conditions. The following students are defined as students with fewer opportunities:

• Students with refugee status
• Students with children, regardless of whether the child is on the trip or not
• Students with disabilities and permanent chronic illnesses that prevent full participation in society on an equal basis with others (doctor's certificate required).
• Students who belong to one of the recognized national minorities.

Students with fewer opportunities who participate in the Erasmus+ programme are entitled to an additional grant. To apply, students must complete the application form for the additional grant and be prepared to provide documentation showing that they belong to one of the eligible groups.

The EU Commission encourages all participants in the Erasmus+ programme to consider sustainable travel methods when traveling on an Erasmus+ stay abroad.

It is a requirement that at least 50 % of the journey must be completed with sustainable means of transport.

In the Erasmus+ programme, it is also possible for students to get grants for shorter stays.

Blended mobility means participation in a course at a university abroad that takes place online and includes a compulsory study trip to the university. It can be studies or practice or a combination of both. As a participant in blended mobility or a BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) you can receive the following grants:

Basic grant:

• EUR 79 per day (5-14 days)
• EUR 50 per day for the days after day 15
• Travel support: EUR 275 - ​​530 depending on the distance in kilometers to the host institution
• Additional grant for students with fewer opportunities: EUR 100 (one-off amount)
