Universal design of ICT
Universal design of ICT implies creating digital solutions and learning resources that are accessible for all, regardless of individual and technical skills.
Why is universal design important?
The introduction of new digital technology and platforms at Nord University should not create barriers for people with functional impairments. Standards that are required by law must be followed. ICT solutions aimed at students must follow the requirements for universal design. The EU Web Accessibility Directive (WAD) was passed in Norway on May 28th 2021, and the public sector is required to follow the new requirements as of February 1st, 2023.
Nord University wants as many people as possible to be able to access our education, and works to promote diversity. Universal design is necessary for some, but useful for everyone. On this page we have collected guides, information, courses and links to make it easy to find information and follow the requirements for universal design.
