Get literature sent home
Students attending online or group session-based study programmes, and are not living near the university library, can order and have literature sent home with Posten.
To order material, follow these steps
- Find the material you want to order in Oria
- Click on the blue button called “Request"
- Under pickup location, find the alternative "Personal Delivery"
- Choose “Home Address"
- Make sure your address registered in StudentWeb is correct.
- If you want to receive the shipment to an alternative address, let ut know through the comments field
NB: The university library does not send books to addresses outside of Norway. If you're in need of a singel chapter, these can be scanned and sent to you by mail. You can ask for this service by using the comment section when ordering books in Oria. The number of pages that can be sent must be less than 15 percent of the book's total page count, in accordance with the Kopinor agreement.
Return of Books
Students who receive literature sent home by mail must arrange the return themselves, and cover any costs related to return postage.
If you will not be visiting one of our campuses before the return deadline, you can send the books back to us via Posten.
Please do not send books to us using PostNord, as we are unable to collect parcels from parcel lockers or PostNord delivery points.
Our postal addresses can be found under the tab “Our Libraries” at nord.no/library. Note: Remember to use the postal address for shipping, not the visiting address.
You can also ask your local public library, or another university or college library, if they can send the book for you. In this case, please note that you, as the borrower, are responsible for the shipment until the book is received by us.
If you have received books from several of our campus libraries, you may return all the books to one library.
Pick up literature when you're attending a group session
Students attending group session-based study programmes can order books and arrange for them to be collected while attending the session on campus. Using this service, the student must collect the material within five working days after the book has been placed on the hold shelf.
NB: This service only applies to students with long travel distances to the campus. Make the order at least two days before arriving the library, to make sure the staff has time to process it.
To order material, follow these steps:
- When you've found the material you want to order, click on the “REQUEST" button
- As the pickup location, choose the library on the campus you're attending the group session
- Add a comment saying you'll pick up the material when you're attending the group session
