About the project
The Arctic is experiencing rapid changes due to climate change and pollution from local and distant sources, impacting human life, wildlife, and ecosystems. ArcSolution takes a holistic “One Health” approach to address these challenges, integrating local and Indigenous knowledge with scientific research across four Arctic locations: Northern Finland, Svalbard, Northern Norway, and Greenland.
We focus on key pollutants like mercury, plastics, and pathogens, studying their effects on ecosystems and human health. Together with local communities, we develop solutions in the circular economy, technology, and chemical management. Our findings are shared with schools, policymakers, industry, and the scientific community to support sustainable actions for a healthier Arctic.
