Knowledge

On successful completion of the course, the student should:

  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of juridical principles of general importance to the seafood industry.
  • Understand how other societal interests delimit aquaculture activity.
  • Know how to run aquaculture activities according to established regulations.
  • Have an overview over public administrative bodies relevant to aquaculture and their prime tasks.
  • Have an overview over important laws and regulations relevant to aquaculture.
  • Be able to clarify procedures of application for permission to establish aquaculture activity.

Skills

The student should be able to:

  • Participate in aquaculture activities in accordance with established laws and regulations.
  • Identify up-coming issues and know how these are treated according to the legislation.
  • Participate in applications for permission to establish aquaculture activity.
  • Contribute actively to the company´s HSE and internal control processes.

Competence

The student should:

  • Have knowledge about the interplay between private and public interests.
  • Be able to update own knowledge based on juridical sources and information from public administrative bodies.
  • Have competence about processes and the possibilities to influence municipal spatial planning.
  • Have knowledge about principles of HSE and internal control in today´s working life.
