After completing the course, the student will have achieved the following learning outcomes:
Knowledge:
- has broad knowledge of the issues associated with different methods
Skills:
- can plan and carry out data capture from Norwegian ecosystems
- has theoretical and practical skills related to different registration methods
- can use various registration and analysis tools
- be able to present results both orally and in writing, highlighting pros and cons in the data material
General competence:
- can consider the best solutions for collecting, compiling and analyzing data through practical field exercises and via various databases
- show how field data can be used in nature management
Compound assessment
- Compulsory participation. Approved/ Not approved. Must be passed prior to submission of the take-home examination 2, individual.
- Take- home examination 1, individual, 4 days, comprises 50% of the grade, grading scale A-F.
- Take- home examination 2, individual, 2 days, comprises 50% of the grade, grading scale A-F.
Home exam: All aids permitted.

Overlap refers to a similarity between courses with the same content. Therefore, you will receive the following reduction in credits if you have taken the courses listed below:
NAT240 - Nature Registration Methods - 15 credits

NAF2002 - Nature Registration Methods 2 - 7.5 credits
