Self-Chosen Literature Study for Senior Teacher Education in Social Science with Specialisation in History
HI318LS
The student chooses, in conjunction with the tutor, a syllabus within academic history of 800 sides related to the theme for the planned master thesis. The syllabus shall be discursive research literature and should include differing perspectives on the theme. Literature which will be particularly central to the thesis may not be included in the syllabus. Instruction is given as individual guidance.
In order to take this course, the student must admitted to the Senior Teacher Education Programme and have completed the bachelor level courses.
Knowledge
- The student should gain knowledge of how an academic research debate is conducted in differing types of academic literature.
- The student should gain knowledge of how to find relevant and representative research literature.
- The student should gain knowledge of how topics can be made relevant for teaching in school.
Skills
- The student should be able to plan and undertake a search for relevant, representative and up-to-date research literature.
- The student should be able to plan and undertake a teaching course on the basis of an independent survey of the research literature.
General competence
- The student should be able to comprehend new topics and mediate academic insight in a reflected and effective way.
