Practice - Tempo and Reflection
The course is divided into two. The first part is a "crash course", where media technical skills are central.
In the second part of the course, the student must submit a written assignment in which he/she reflects on his/her own experiences during the internship.
The topic has two parts. The first part is arranged before editorial practice JO214U, and is a "crash cource" where technical skills within mediawork is central. The cource gives an intensiv introduction to the editorial practice, both mediatechnical and with the aim of working fast and under pressure. The student will practise in journalistic production, find ideas, judge news value, do both juridical and ethical judgements, and produce and publish stories fast. The student is supposed to familiarize his or herself with the newsroom he or she will have their editorial practice in. They shall work with finding ideas for that mediahouse, and in that way contribute to finding their own place in the newsroom.
In the second part of the topic the students are supposed to write a thesis that reflects on their experiences during their stay in the mediahouse. The thesis is supposed to show if the student is able to analyse his or her own experiences with the help of theories and concepts from the currriculum, press ethics and costums from the newsroom.

The first part of the topic is very practicale with some theortical teaching. The students will use the first few days to get to know the editorial profile and the publishing tools in the newroom the will have their practice in. From there they will compare their own technical knowledge with the newsroom's demands, and summarize this in writing as a preparation for their practice.
The second part of the topic is internal practice and the longest and the most extensive. In this part they will produce journalism at high speed. The students will especially focus on what they need to be better at.
It is mandatory to participate in the internal practice.

Thesis. Individual, written thesis. The student will focus on a self-perceived situation or a journalistic piece of work from the practical training period. Rating expression A-F. Counts 100/100 of the grade.
