Sustainable Value Creation
LED5021
The course presents a new interpretation of sustainable value creation in the economy. By giving a multi-faceted presentation of sustainable economy on individual, business and systemic levels the goal is to illuminate challenges in practice of value creation. In order to connect theoretical knowledge and practical competencies the lectures connects to practical examples and case studies. The course is module based. The connection between the modules is illuminated and discussed in seminars where the student present their own ideas and projects developed in self-organized groups.
The course is only open to students in the study program Master of Science in Global Management or Master in Entrepreneushipg and Business Development.
Knowledge:
The students have:
- In-depth knowledge of value creation in an integrative perspective on sustainable economy.
- Advanced knowledge of the different concepts and theories presented in the different modules of the course.
- In-depth knowledge of ethical, philosophical and political challenges related to sustainable value creation.
Skills:
The students can:
- Analyze and critically evaluate scientific information relevant to sustainable value creation.
- Independently use scientific concepts, theories and models critically in their work on practical challenges.
- Use relevant research methods to design and carry out a research project in sustainable value creation.
- Understand the ethical problems involved in communicating the challenges in sustainable economy.
General competencies:
The students can:
- Communicate important topics and challenges relevant for sustainable economy on individual, business and society levels.
- Perform advanced projects using knowledge and skills presented in the different course modules.
- Participate in dialogues on questions concerning sustainable value creation on different fields of society.
Paid semester fee and syllabus literature. It is also required that students have a laptop at their disposal.
Elective course
Lectures, dialogue, case studies and group work.
The study programme is evaluated annually by students by way of course evaluation studies. These evaluations are included in the universitys quality assurance system.
