MED2002
Project X provides the opportunity for a student to complete an internship with an industry partner, spend a semester studying abroad at a partner university or engage in an interdisciplinary project within the university.

The Project X course is designed to expose the student to the dynamics of the industry or the wider academic community. Each student will be supported by a designated mentor from the academic team here in Nord. Project X provides the opportunity for a student to spend a semester studying abroad at a partner university, develop their own work in a specialised subject area, or engage in an interdisciplinary project within the university.

Having the opportunity to engage with the wider international community, rich with cultural diversity, is a very valuable preparatory mechanism promoting interdisciplinarity, employability and transition into a future career. For those students who choose to remain on campus, there are many opportunities to get an ‘international from home’ experience through interdisciplinary research, student-led projects or in collaboration with our extended network of industry professionals.

Restricted to students at the Bachelor studies in Games and Entertainment Technology, CG art and Animation, Film and TV production and connected study programs at our international partner institutions.
Candidates must have accrued a minimum of 90 ECTS from the study program they are enrolled on.

After completing the course,canditates should be able to:

Knowledge

  • describe a specific role within a creative media pipeline, including typical tasks responsibilities and interactions with adjacent roles
  • justify work processes undertaken in to accomplish specific tasks within a collaborative project

Skills

  • fulfil a specific role with precision and accuracy within a collaborative project
  • reflect on their own performance working as part of a collaborative team
  • evaluate the quality of output from a project

General competence

  • present a portfolio of work that shows active contribution to a project
  • present an international perspective within their work
  • develop professional working relationships through active participation in a collaborative production
In addition to the semester fee and curriculum literature, it is assumed that the student has a laptop computer at his/her disposal.
Mandatory
Each student will be supported by a designated mentor from the academic team. Mentors will be assigned to match student ambition with subject expertise and a project plan will be co-created to scaffold the learning process.
The course is evaluated in-line with the quality assurance processes of the university.

Portfolio (MA) Individual (100/100)

  • Showreel of artistic/technical work specific to role undertaken within the course (60/100)
  • Reflection on output and developmental work in a professional collaborative context (40/100)

Graded: A-F.

Overlap refers to a similarity between courses with the same content. Therefore, you will receive the following reduction in credits if you have taken the courses listed below:
