Nature registration methods 1

NAF2001
The course focus on different methods used in registration, mapping and monitoring of chosen species and landscapes. To make sure students are able to solve assignments based on collected data, the course is based upon theoretical and practical training.
The subject is reserved for outgoing students at Bachelor of Nature Management.
Students must meet current admission requirements for the associated study program.

After completing the course, the student will have achieved the following learning outcomes:

Knowledge:

  • based on data from fieldwork an databases, be able to plan a field study, conduct it and compile data from norwegian ecosytems.

Skills:

  • have a theoretical and practical understanding of methods and tools used in data collection and analyzing
  • be able to present results both in writing and oral, and manage to point out pros and cons in the data material

General competence:

  • how to use field data in nature management
Paid semester fee and syllabus literature. It is also required that students have a laptop at their disposal.
Compulsory in 3rd semester for outgoing students connected to Nature Management.
The course consists of lectures, fieldwork and assignments followed by oral presentations. In some cases, working hours in the field can exceed those of a normal day at campus.
Evaluated annually by students through course surveys. These evaluations are included in the university’s quality assurance system.

Overlap refers to a similarity between courses with the same content. Therefore, you will receive the following reduction in credits if you have taken the courses listed below:
